Moi University Lecturer Joyce Komen has sued her husband, former Team Kenya athlete Daniel Komen over a Ksh100 million matrimonial property.

Mrs Komen is also suing Marathon great Eliud Kipchoge, former 3000 metres steeplechase champion Brimin Kipruto, and businessmen Felix Kipchoge Lagat and Peter Kipsigei Lagat in the case.

The Moi University Lecturer is suing her husband Daniel Komen for selling a 200-acre prime agricultural piece of Land in Eldoret to the four defendants.

Mrs Komen told Justice Reuben Nyakundi she was unaware her husband had sold their land. She told the court that she had contributed substantively to the development of the property which is currently worth Ksh100 million.

"I have also learned with shock that the property was sold at just Ksh10 million, which represents just 10 per cent of the actual value of the land," Mrs Komen said.

"My husband has never mentioned it to me that he had sold the land, let alone the intention to sell the property," she argued.

Mrs Komen claims that she took loans to contribute to the purchase and development of the property. She told the court that the deal to sell the land is riddled with fraud and deceit.
