NG-CDF Officials Arrested in Ksh55 Million Theft, to be Charged in Court

Officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have arrested senior officials at the Ol Kalou National Government Community Development Fund (NG-CDF) board - Nyandarua County - over graft allegations.

EACC in a statement on Monday morning, May 6, 2024, revealed that the officials were nabbed for the embezzlement of Ksh55.8 million for road works that were never done.

The 10 individuals arrested include managing directors of the construction companies allegedly awarded the road tenders.

Upon arrest, the suspects were processed at EACC Nyeri Regional Offices on Friday, May 3, 2024.

They will be arraigned at the Nyahururu Anti-Corruption Court on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 9 am.

The arraignment comes after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP)   concurred with recommendations of the Commission to charge the suspects with 16 counts of corruption and economic crimes.

The 10 suspects are: John Kariuki Kimani, Simon Nduati Kariuki, Ludovick Ngera Gachara, Jerusha Waithera Wambui, Samuel Ngugi Gachuki, Peter Mburu Mwangi, Charles Chuaga Ndung’u, Janerose Muthoni Wachira, Titus Kibui Kariuki, and Dominic Mulwa Kasina.
